Coming home.

We are now on the plane getting ready to depart. However, the plane is delayed so we hope one and a half hours is enough to get to our connecting flight. We have had a great time, and are somewhat sad to have to leave but it will be nice to get back.

Roads

In Norway they DO make roads like they used to. Here they are making a cobblestone road in Kongsberg.

At Waals...

Today was church and dinner at the aunt and uncle's. Jacob hit his
cheek and christy ate pie.

GOOOOOOOOAL!

We have now played in the Oslo stake soccer tournement. Unfortunately we didn't win, but we had fun. Christy almost scored a goal and I... just made a fool of myself. :)

deilig fordet.

Back in Norway.

At the moment we are on a small ship leaving an island ouside oslo where we have been to the viking ship museum.

Denmark was fun. We saw the original Kristus statue, went to the zoo, and enjoyed some danish food.

Tonight we are going to Miriams and on to Besseggen in the morning.

The weather has been decent (some clouds and small showers with some sun), so we can't complain.

Oslo Fjord

On the ship to Copenhagen. We're excited to relax some although we
feel like we are retired as we sit on deck with our books...

The highlight...

After having done the most important thing on the trip - eat a kebab -
we are now sitting in our cabin looking over the Oslo fjord on our way
to Copenhagen. Also, we were finally able to sleep in some at my
grandparents place. something which was sorely needed after much
travel and a late night playing 'Sing-Star' with the cousins. (My team
won.)

Update!

Here's the latest update on our trip. We are now in Norway at my grandparents' after having enjoyed Norwegian church. So far we have been to London and Stockholm (Pictures above) as well as visited Miriam, my sister. We are having a great time (besides from being tired quite often as we hardly ever get any sleep...) But, tomorrow we set off for a quick tour of Oslo before we depart for København (Copenhagen). We will be back again on Wednesday when we go back to Miriam's and then on to hike Besseggen the day after (I am really looking forward to that!). Snakkes! -Glenn-

Berrys rock!

We picked some wild rasberrys. Tasty little treats...

A Wild Time in the Forest

Today we have been visiting at Miriam's house. We had a great time
going 4-wheeling through the hard core Norwegian forest. Since it has
been raining, needless to say we got muddy and wet while having a
blast. The country really is too beautiful to describe. -Christy-

A new day.

We are now on the bus on our way to Miriam's where we are going to
ride four wheelers in the woods. It's 9am and we are still kinda tired
from the long drive from Stockholm. But despite the long drive it was
fun. After the sealing, we went to the city and took a quick look at
'old town', had some glass (Ice cream) and headed back to Norway. It's
great being here and we are hoping dodging trees in the mud at 40
miles an hour will keep the jet-lag at bay.

London

we are now back at the hotel after an exhausting day. But weather was
great and we have seen some cool stuff. More pictures will come.

On the plane...

We are finally on the plane ready to go after an hour delay. Good bye usa!

Made it!

so... we made it through security. in less than 2 minutes. We waited a little over an hour to check in.

But, we saw this cool sign. Can you believe that?!?

Btw... Flight is delayed until 9...

Am I bold enough...?

No... I'm not... I don't think Arrowhead knew they were making a potentially illegal product when they bottled this, but it will be in my stomack, so...

Anyway, we're getting ready to check in for our flight to london at lax. I have never seen it this slow, and I have flown across the atlantic from here many times.

Three more hours to wait at the airport... :(

Bunad

Christy tried on Mamma's bunad today. She looked gorgeous and Norwegian. :)

Mt Whitney

Two weekends ago I went with Nate and Nate to hike Mt. Whitney - which we did. And it was awesome. I have a ton of pictures. Here are a couple:

On our way the morning of the ascent.
Coming back down after a long day.
14,500 feet... (The air was thin, ok?!)

Quail

We just had 16 quail in our backyard... We snuck up on them like sneaky wildlife photographers and took this picture with my phone. Quite the adventure...

Promotion

Things here are going rather swell. We've been staying super busy, but that's to be expected. The latest big news for me is that I received a promotion at work a couple of days ago! Instead of just being a club counselor for the Girls and Boys Club, I'm now one of the head honchos. I get to plan and organize everything we do, as well as lead the other counselors. It's kinda scary, but it's a huge opportunity, and great with the extra hours. Plus, I love my job!

Norway...

So, most of you know that we are headed to Norway in a couple of weeks. Frank just sent me this link: http://www.aftenposten.no/english/local/article828724.ece.

You'd think that it's a good thing for us, but only partly. At a random Mexican restaurant in Norway (yes, they do exist...) a 0.5 liter of soda costs $4.23... (http://www.mexicana.no/meny.pdf?PHPSESSID=e043144466a1fa58e96ce92fc0031e8e). A BigMac (not that anyone would eat that anyway...) costs about $6 while the same costs approximately $2.16 in Pakistan. (http://www.mcdonalds.dk/page/mcdonalds/23345/51708/default.asp)

Here's a link the current currency trend for the NOK versus the USD: http://www.x-rates.com/d/NOK/USD/graph120.html. We're leaving at a terrible time for those with "greens" in their pocket.

The latest photoshoot

...anyone?
