Oh, Canada!

-UPDATE-
More pics from Canada.

Here's some more pics from the Canada trip. We have spent the last few days at Uncle Terry's house. We've been having a blast, getting to know cousins and getting a feel for the Canadian way of life (or should I say British way of life because everyone we've interacted with here has been British). It's a beautiful country, the branch we attended today was charming, and I've been able to taste Yorkshire Pudding and Trifle for the first time. We will be sad to leave and go back to our everyday lives, but feel blessed to get know the other side of the family. Definitely not looking forward to the 12 hour (if we're lucky) drive home tomorrow. Baby Brownlee has been taking a toll on his Mum's back and bum...

More on Canada...

We are now in Kelowna, BC visiting with some more family and staying with my Dad's brother Terry. It's been a lot of fun to get to know many of the cousins, aunts, uncles, and more. We drove from Calgary to Kelowna over the Trans Canadian Highway (Route 1) and loved the amazing mountains there (pictures linked on the previous post). Today we have spent most of the day in Penticton at the beach by Lake Okanagen and I went wakeboarding for the first time while Christy dilligently took pictures. (P.s. I have updated the last set of pictures to include some comments).

Return to Rexburg

With great reluctance, we returned home to Rexburg after two weeks of California time. We were to drive to LAS in a Chevy Aveo but the rental company gave us a Mustang (with 9,000 miles on it) in stead. Thus, we chose to drive through Death Valley rather than the boring I-15. It was a blast and brought back memories of getting lost somewhere around Death Valley Junction late at night and nearly running out of gas about two and a half years ago.

Getty Museum

A trip to the L.A. area is not complete without a visit to the Getty Museum. It is a beautiful place with a beautiful and varied selection of art exhibits. But note: bring sun glasses! The white travertine stone is not as easily enjoyed with the bare eye.

Lake trip

A few days before returning to Rexburg, I went with a buddy to the lake to test out his Waverunner and just cool off a bit. Fun trip that ended at the Pizza Factory in Lone Pine. If you've never had the pepperoni pizza there, go!
