Beautiful hike...

I am imposing my innate love for nature and hiking on Nico in hopes that it will rub off. We went to Harriman State Park yesterday, so he has now been on his fourth hike with us. This one was about 7 miles long around a lake with a detour to another one. He started complaining at about mile one. Luckily, the solution was simple: Place him facing forward on my chest rather than on my back. He soon started looking around with amazement and quietly (yet, sometimes vocally) enjoyed the fantastic scenery and ubiquitous wildlife and even smiled contently at times. Perhaps my forcefulness is starting to have an effect... Though it could just be that Harriman is a wonderful place. Go there. Now.
