Church Today
Craziest thing happened today at church. During Sunday School I normally take Nico to the mother's room for lunch and they have a thing where you can listen to a different ward's sacrament meeting. (Btw let me just tell you that this mother's room is HUGE!-has at least 12 chairs in it). Well, we hear the bishop start announcing the program after the sacrament and he says something to the extent "We will now hear from Sister Bednar who will be followed by her husband, Elder Bednar." There were a couple other girls in the room with me and we're all like, is this for real? An Apostle is in the building? Well, needless to say, it was pretty awesome! Elder Bednar is so easy to relate to, even though he's an apostle. He talked about some memories from when he and Sister Bednar were young parents like us. When he was a stake president and couldn't attend his home ward one day Sister Bednar had to take out the baby to feed him, so she left her two other boys to sit by themselves, recruiting some help from members sitting nearby. Apparently she came back to find blood all over one of her son's face, and a huge man sitting in between the two. (Only this big man could keep the two boys from beating each other up!) Well, needless to say, the stories made me feel better about everything because already I sometimes wonder if it's worth even going to church sometimes when almost the whole time is spent in the halls with a noisy little boy. Well, Elder Bednar taught that the key that he learned with his children is to be consistent in everything (going to church, fhe, prayer, etc). While most of the time the children will argue and fight and not want to be there, stay consistent. Then he gave us a prophesy: With your children, it will get worse. Just wait until they're teenagers. -then adding that if Isaac was a teenager, it wouldn't have been a sacrafice for Abraham.
Anyways, I thought that was pretty cool and was glad that we did go to church today, never expecting what waited for us. (Glenn even got to shake his hand.) If we had just decided not to go to church today, imagine what we would have missed out of!

That's a cool story. Makes you realize that no family is perfect and even though it's hard with little ones, it's important to establish patterns. Thanks for the post!
Awesome! I saw him speak here in Japan a couple weeks ago and he is a great speaker. He speaks with simple, plain language.
Raising children is easy... the hard part is if they survive.
